Linear Lighting for Flexible Learning Spaces
At Western Sydney University’s new Bankstown campus, lighting plays a defining role in shaping a modern, inspiring environment for students and educators. In collaboration with NDY Light and L&B Electrical, Austube Schréder delivered a high-performance lighting solution that combines advanced technology, architectural precision, and intelligent control to realise the university’s “Factory of the Future” vision.
Project Overview
The WSU Bankstown campus sets a new benchmark in educational lighting design, where creativity, sustainability, and smart technology converge. The lighting strategy balances feature and functional illumination to support flexible, future-ready learning spaces. With an emphasis on glare control, high colour rendering, and energy efficiency, every area is optimised for comfort, performance, and visual appeal.
Ground Floor – “Factory of the Future”
At the centre of the campus, a turbine-inspired architectural feature is brought to life by the largest-diameter Contourline75 curved luminaires ever supplied by Austube Schréder. These luminaires create a striking visual focal point while maintaining exceptional light quality and user comfort.
